Book Review: Eugie Foster, Inspiration's End/Still My Beating Heart

Got to finish up my listings for the [info]50bookchallenge.

39) Inspiration's End/Still My Beating Heart, by Eugie Foster, 23 pages

Chapbook by our own [info]eugie, mistress most high of all things short story, and released by Scrybe Press, these two vampire short stories are beautifully written and darkly unsettling, each with a twist on accepted conventions that makes them at once familiar and new. I found "Inspiration's End" especially has lingered in my hindbrain.

Beautiful, and recommended. And at the price, you can't beat it.

Hey, no problem. They were totally wonderful stories! I went back and read them again this morning, just on principle. Very cool.

Have you ever read Firethorn by Sarah Micklem?

I picked it up at the bookstore the other day and it's really good. Amazon link

It just made me think "huh, this is a book Naamah might like.
